Horseback riding in Ireland

Morning Beach Ride in Wicklow

Imagine a beautiful sandy beach, the sun just about to rise and a brisk horse ready to go.

I had the pleasure to be invited to an amazing morning ride by my colleague. We set our alarms before 5 am and drove to County Wicklow.

No other people on the beach yet, a horse dancing under you ready to go. You breathe in that crisp morning air, smelling of sea. Seagulls screaming and the sun starting to climb up behind the horizon.

Nothing beats the feeling of riding when you feel the powerful horse speeding up, getting excited and racing the others, but still listening to your lightest commands. No better way of starting the morning. Couldn’t stop smiling for the rest of the day.
